What it does

Get the version of building code provisions in force on a specific date.
We meticulously track amendments to each edition of a building code to show you the version in force on the AS-OF date alongside links to the chain of amendments as well as each specific version of a provision so you can trace the changes yourself.

What we cover

Ontario only for now, from December 2006 to December 2024. Set the AS-OF date to the construction or renovation date you care about. See where the data comes from.

Two ways to search

Describe a topic in words, or type a specific article number such as 3.1.8.1. to jump straight to it.

Exploring a result

Each result expands in place. From there you can:

  • Open the full provision record — its standalone page with the complete text.
  • Jump to the regulation behind the current wording, or any O. Reg. and clause along its amendment chain, opening each past version as it then read.
  • Open any tables cited in the provision.
  • For grouped results, drill into the individual sub-provisions.
