7.5.4.5. — Fixtures Draining into Vent Pipes

(1) The trap arm of a fixture that has a hydraulic load of not more than 1 ½ fixture units may be connected to the vertical section of a circuit vent, additional circuit vent, offset relief vent or yoke vent, provided that,

(a) not more than 2 fixtures are connected to the vent pipe,

(b) where 2 fixtures are connected to the vent pipe, the connection is by means of a double fitting, in accordance with Table 7.2.4.5., and

(c) the section of the vent pipe that acts as a wet vent conforms to the requirements regarding wet vents.

Strike override gazette quoted 'offset relief vent, relief vent\nor yoke vent' but source contained 'offset relief vent, relief vent or yoke vent' — Gazette placed the comma inside the first italic ('offset relief vent,') and broke before 'or' with a newline; the source carries the comma outside the closing tag ('offset relief vent,') with the word-separator space inside the second italic ('relief vent or'). The shapes render identically but the comma/whitespace sit on opposite sides of the tag boundary, which the layered match does not fold. Pinning the strike to the source bytes lets the substitution ('offset relief vent or yoke vent', dropping the middle term) land.
